Liam O'Herlihy graduated in Architecture from University College Dublin and having worked abroad in London, Amsterdam and Vienna returned to work in Dublin.  

Liam has been painting in watercolour since 1984 and following numerous successful exhibitions has now established a direct purchase market in parallel with the larger scale exhibitions in The Orchard.  He is now teaching watercolour painting and running classes in his studio in Foxrock, because of COVID 19 these classes are now being run on zoom.  

He is the current President of the Watercolour Society of Ireland. His work has been exhibited in the Royal Hibernian Academy, The Watercolour Society of Ireland and the European Confederation of Watercolour Societies annual exhibitions, most recently in Estonia and Poland.  

Liam's works form part of a number of collections in Ireland and abroad including the University of Limerick and the Office of Public Works.
